We prefer the term “young adult” to teenager because it better describes this transitional time. During the middle school and high school years, children are learning how to live and learn on their own, finding their own identity, and exploring careers. Hopefully they are developing character, affirming values, and building habits that will help them be successful in life.
One key habit is reading, both for enjoyment and to learn new things. There are a lot of demands on their time, so it’s important to help them continue reading by providing plenty of books. And it helps if they see you reading, too – so many of the books we’ve included in this section can be enjoyed by adults.
There’s a wide variety to choose from: fiction story books, realistic fiction books, kids mystery books, biographies, classics, novels, poetry, science fiction and fantasy, and action/adventure. We also feature age-appropriate Christian childrens books that show young people just like them living out their faith in today’s world.
